Metropolitan Bank Launches Mobile Banking App

Technology upgrade offers clients anytime, anywhere account access

The Metropolitan Bank today announced the launch of its enhanced mobile banking service, to include a mobile banking application and SMS text banking for all of its account holders.

Metropolitan’s mobile banking service gives clients instant connectivity to accounts anytime and anywhere. The downloadable app provides even faster access to account information and adds the ability for clients to transfer money between accounts from their smart phone. The app is now available on the iPhone, Android and Blackberry platforms. This move is consistent with Metropolitan’s client service philosophy of providing clients financial resources whenever and wherever they need them.

“We did quite a bit of industry research and evaluation of our client base before making the decision to launch our mobile banking app,” said Curt Gabardi, Metropolitan president and CEO. “The trends point more and more to on-the-go banking, and we're thrilled to offer our client base yet another convenient channel with which to monitor their accounts that will make their lives easier in these increasingly busy times.”

Metropolitan partnered with financial technology company FundsXpress Financial Network, Inc. to create the mobile banking technology. FundsXpress worked to meet Metropolitan’s goals of  providing a convenient, secure way for clients to check account balances; view account information and history; and make internal transfers while on the go.
