FAQ–General Mobile Banking

How much does this service cost?
No charges are currently associated with the service. However, some charges may be associated with text messaging and data usage for your phone. Check with your wireless phone provider for more information.

Is it secure?
Yes. Our mobile banking service utilizes best practices for online banking, such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, PIN or password access, and application time-out when your phone is not in use. Only phones that you personally enroll in mobile banking can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is stored in your phone. In the event your phone is lost or stolen, the service may be immediately disabled by either going online to the Mobile Banking enrollment website, or calling us.

Which wireless carriers are supported?
We support popular US wireless phone providers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. If your provider is not listed when you enroll, select Other and try the Mobile Web option. Or, check back at a later date, as new carriers will be added over time.

Do I need a text message or data plan?
Yes. A text messaging and/or data plan is preferable, as data usage can be costly without them. Please check with your wireless provider for more information.

I'm not enrolled for online banking. Can I still use this?
No. You must first enable your bank account(s) for online banking before using mobile banking.

What is activation?
Activation is a one-time process that helps ensure your security. Upon enrolling a phone, you will receive an activation code. The code is required to begin using Text or Mobile Banking on your device. We recommend you print your activation code and installation instructions for easy reference during installation.

How do I add a “payee” from the smartphone app?
If you need to add a new payee, you must add the contact by accessing our online banking site via your computer. If you are using the iPhone application, after adding payees, remember to run an update so the Bill Pay feature will be available on the app. On other phones, you should see a “Pay Bills” link on the site after the sign-on screen.
